PM Modi interacts with Indian community in Dublin
Dublin, Sept 23 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday addressed the Indian community in Dublin which was a wrap up on his five-hour trip to Ireland.
He spoke about growing global optimism towards India and how India's youth will take India to newer heights of progress.
"Overwhelmed by the community programme in Dublin. Recital of Shlokas in Sanskrit by children was very touching," he said during his address.
Modi also mentioned that "Irish children here sang Sanskrit Shlokas to welcome me... In India, this would have raised questions about secularism."
The Indian PM said he held productive talks with his Irish counterpart Enda Kenny.
After his meeting with Kenny, PM Modi said at a joint media event: "Had a fruitful meeting with Mr. @EndaKennyTD. India and Ireland can form productive partnerships in trade, economy, technology and other areas."
"India can be Ireland's anchor in Asia and Ireland can be India's vital gateway to Europe & bridge across the Atlantic," Modi said.
