New Delhi, May 7 (IBNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav on Saturrday to discuss about the drought situation in Bundelkhand while a water-carrying train waits at Jhansi railway station, according to media reports.
The Uttar Pradesh government reiterated its stand that the state does not need water trains but tankers that can carry water from the reservoirs to the villages.

Yadav too tweeted saying, "Meeting with @narendramodi was a very positive one. We focused on the right solutions for the drought situation."

On Saturday, PM Modi is also meeting the chief ministers of Maharashtra and Karnataka to discuss the drought situation in their respective states.
