New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a discussion with chief ministers of seven states on Sept 23 regarding the alarming rise in the number of coronavirus cases.

The meeting comes as most of the states in the Asian country have been witnessing a rapid spike in the number of Covid-19 cases over the last few weeks.

The seven states include Delhi, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, which are the worst affected in the country as of now.

India, the second-worst affected country worldwide, has been adding over 90,000 cases of the contagion daily.

The total number of cases has been pushed to over 54 lakhs including 86,752 deaths, as of Sunday.
