New Delhi, Dec 9 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished Congress president Sonia Gandhi in a tweet on Tuesday morning, media reports said.

“Best wishes to Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi on her birthday. May Almighty bless her with a long & healthy life,” PM Modi tweeted.

Gandhi, who turns 68, said that she will not celebrate her birthday this year as a mark of respect for those who lost their lives in the terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir and the Maoist attack in Jharkhand, sources said.

“In solidarity with the martyred army and police personnel there, Mrs Gandhi has asked Congresspersons not to celebrate her birthday,” the party said in a statement on Monday.
