PM Narendra Modi is afraid of a soldier: Kejriwal on EC cancelling nomination of Tej Bahadur Yadav from Varanasi

New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) Attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the cancellation of nomination of the SP candidate from Varanasi Tej Bahadur Yadav, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said the PM is very weak and afraid of a soldier.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Kejriwal said,"There are few occasions in history when a soldier of a country is compelled to challenge his PM. But this is the first time in history that a PM is so afraid of a soldier, that instead of competing against him, he gets the nomination cancelled due to some technical reason. Modi ji, you have turned out to be very weak. A soldier of the country has won."

The nomination papers of SP candidate from Varanasi Tej Bahadur Yadav were on Wednesday rejected by the authorities after going for a long hearing over his dismissal from the service.

Tej Bahadur Yadav, while informing about the decision of the authorities here on Wednesday, told reporters that his nomination has been rejected wrongly.

"I was asked to produce the evidence at 1815 hrs yesterday. We produced the evidence, still my nomination was rejected. We will go to the Supreme Court," he said.

The SP had given the ticket to former BSF Jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav to take on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, replacing its earlier candidate Shalini Yadav, on the last day of filing of nominations on April 29.

Tej Bahadur Yadav was dismissed from the service of the BSF in the year 2017 after he released a video on poor quality of food served to soldiers.
