PM Narendra Modi offered to contest Lok Sabha Election from Bengal : Mukul Roy
Buniadpur, Apr 20 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi was today offered to contest the Lok Sabha election from West Bengal, BJP's think-tank and poll strategist of Bengal Mukul Roy informed.
"Narendra Modiji neither accepted nor rejected but took the offering to contest from Bangla smilingly," Roy told reporters after the PM's second round election rally in the state's South Dinajpur here ended. This was PM's second round trip to poll bound north Bengal as he last addressed a rally near Siliguri on April 3.
" We told Modiji to save us from the perpetrator of Mamata Banerjee led Trinamool Congress and lead Bengal for restoring the glory and be prepare to contest from West Bengal in the Lok Sabha poll," Roy told reporters here.
Mr Roy, one of the founder members of TMC and was No 2 leader, deserted the party and joined the BJP last November.
In West Bengal there are 42 seats. The BJP has so far fielded 39 candidates and kept three vacant so far.
" If Modiji wants to contest from Bengal he can choose any constituency, " added Roy.
Earlier during address, Modi said the sleep of Mamata didi has been stopped after the two phases poll for five seats in north Bengal's Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri and Raiganj, Polling held on April 11 (two) and April 18 (3).
Modi is expected to come for three more BJP rallies in span of next four days starting from April 23 at Asansol where Babul Supriya is contesting to retain his seat and Arpil 24 for Bolpur and Ranaghat.
