Police register another case against Congress MLA for violating lockdown rules

Puducherry/UNI: Police registered another case against Congress legislator A John Kumar on charges of violating the lockdown rules, here on Tuesday.

According to police, John Kumar gathered about 150 persons in the church street here on Monday evening and distributed rice to them.

Cases under section 269 and 188 of IPC and 51(b) of the Disaster management Act 2005 were registered against Kumar.

It may be noted that cases under the same sections were registered against him sometime back for gathering people in front of his house and distributing vegetables to them.

Earlier, cases were registered against BJP Puducherry Unit President V Saminathan, MLA., BJP Youth Wing President Govindan and Independent legislator from Mahe region of the Union Territory Prof Ramachandran for the same reason.
