Poonch gunfight: Security forces detain two for 'providing logistics support' to terrorists

Jammu/UNI: Security forces have detained two persons for allegedly providing logistics support to a group of terrorists engaged in a week-long gunfight in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The gunfight entered the seventh day on Sunday.

"During searches based on the intelligence inputs, two persons have been detained for providing food and shelter to a group of heavily armed terrorists," reliable sources said.

They said the duo is being questioned to get more details.

In a week-long ensuing gunfight in Nar Khas forest of Bhatidhariyan area of Mendhar sub division, so far nine Army soldiers including two Junior Commissioned Officers have been killed.

Elite para commandos of the Indian Army and helicopters are also pressed into service to track down the terrorists.

The traffic on the highway close to the encounter site is also suspended.
