New Delhi/IBNS: Popular civil services coaching teacher Avadh Ojha joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) months ahead of the Delhi assembly elections.

Ojha was welcomed to the party by AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and senior leader Manish Sisodia.

"My best aim in joining politics is to work for the development of education," said Ojha joining the ruling party of Delhi.

Kejriwal said, "With Avadh Ojha-ji joining AAP, the country's education will be strengthened."

Sisodia, the former Deputy Chief Minister who held the Education portfolio, wrote on X, "Although many big people have been joining Aam Aadmi Party from time to time, but Shri Avadh Ojha ji's joining the party is a day of immense happiness and pride for me personally.

"I have dedicated my life to education, and if I have to choose between politics and education, I will choose working on education every time."

Delhi is expected to go to polls early next year.
