President Murmu arrives in Odisha on three-day visit
Bhubaneswar/UNI: President Droupadi Murmu arrived here at Baripada on Monday by special Air Force Aircraft from Kalaikunda Airbase on a three-day visit to Odisha.
Odisha Governor Raghubar Das and Union Minister Biseswar Tudu received the President at Baripada Police Padia after she landed.
An elaborate security arrangement has been made for the smooth visit of the President. Sources said 32 platoons of police were deployed for the security of the President.
As per the schedule, the President will grace the inaugural session of the 36th Annual Conference and Literary Festival of All India Santali Writers’ Association at Baripada and inaugurate an Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) at Kuliana in Mayurbhanj district on Monday.
The EMRS has been developed on 12 acres of land at a cost of Rs 38 crore sanctioned by the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
She will inaugurate a Skill Training Centre at Paharpur village on November 21.
Subsequently, she will visit Badampahar Railway Station, from where she will flag off three new trains —-Badampahar– Tatanagar MEMU; Badampahar-Rourkela Weekly Express; and Badampahar - Shalimar Weekly Express.
The President will also inaugurate the new Rairangpur Postal Division; release a commemorative cover of the Rairangpur Postal Division, and lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Badampahar Railway Station.
She will travel from Badampahar to Rairangpur on the Badampahar-Shalimar Express. On the same evening, the President will grace the 15th annual convocation of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla.
On November 22, the President will launch the National Education Campaign – New Education for New India, organised by Brahma Kumaris at Sambalpur.
Later, the President will visit Puttaparthi, where she will grace the 42nd convocation of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning.
