Prime Minister Narendra Modi looking forward to meet Canadian PM Justin Trudeau today

New Delhi, Feb 23 (IBNS): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau will meet here on Friday.

Trudeau and his family, who arrived in India on Saturday, are on the last leg of their seven-day tour.

Modi said on Thursday he is looking forward to meet the Canadian leader.

" I look forward to meeting PM @JustinTrudeau tomorrow and holding talks on further strengthening India-Canada relations in all spheres. I appreciate his deep commitment to ties between our two countries," Modi tweeted.

In a separate tweet, the Indian PM said he is also looking forward to meet Trudeau's children.

Modi also shared an image on Twitter from hi 2015 visit to Canada where he met Justin Trudeau and his daughter Ella-Grace.

"I hope PM @JustinTrudeau and his family had a very enjoyable stay so far. I particularly look forward to meeting his children Xavier, Ella-Grace, and Hadrien. Here is a picture from my 2015 Canada visit, when I'd met PM Trudeau and Ella-Grace," Modi tweeted.

Meanwhile, embarrassing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, pro-Khalistani and convicted attempted murderer Jaspal Atwal's accompaniment with the PM has been revealed, media reports said.

In a picture from Trudeau's meet with Bollywood celebrities on Tuesday, Atwal was caught in a picture with the Canadian PM's wife Sophie.

Atwal was also invited for a dinner thrown by Canadian High Commission on Thursday.

However, his invitation has been rescinded after the break out of the news, report said.

Trudeau, who is on a week-long visit to India, will stay till February 23.

Trudeau on Wednesday met Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh where the two leaders had discussed over the controversial Khalistan issue.

Trudeau has assured Singh of Canada's distance from the all those who want Indian state of Punjab as a separate country named Khalistan.

Apart from diplomatic talks, Trudeau had visited Taj Mahal, Sabarmati Ashram, Golden Temple during his stay in India.
