New Delhi, Feb 22 (IBNS): Embarrassing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, pro-Khalistani and convicted attempted murderer Jaspal Atwal's accompaniment with the PM has been revealed, media reports said.

In a picture from Trudeau's meet with Bollywood celebrities on Tuesday, Atwal was caught in a picture with the Canadian PM's wife Sophie.

Atwal was also invited for a dinner thrown by Canadian High Commission on Thursday.

However, his invitation has been rescinded after the break out of the news, report said.

The leaked image could lead to a controversy as Trudeau on Wednesday assured Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh of the Canadian government's distance from the pro-Khalistanis.

Singh's meeting with Trudeau was uncertain as the former was upset with Canada's alleged involvement with the Sikh nationalist movement.

The Sikh nationalist movement is a movement which aims to make Punjab region of India, a separate country named Khalistan.

After meeting the Canadian PM, Singh told media: "I raised issue of Khalistan as it's the primary issue, as there is money coming in from various countries including Canada."

Trudeau has promised his government will take actions against all those who seek to separate Punjab from India.

He also stated that Canada always favours an "united India".

Trudeau, who is on a week-long visit to India, will stay till February 23.

Trudeau's family and ministers are also present in India.

So far, he visited the Taj Mahal, Sabarmati Ashram, Golden Temple and even attended a mega Bollywood event on Tuesday.

He is expected to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday.
