Punjab: Kejriwal bats for law against religious conversions

Jalandhar(Punjab)/IBNS: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal has spoken against religious conversions and even said that a law should be made to address the issue but nobody should be harassed.

In a poll rally in Jalandhar, Kejriwal said religion is a private matter and converting someone by sacring them is wrong, according to an ANI report.

BJP-ruled states like Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh already have anti-conversion laws and some others like Assam are also planning to bring similar legislation.

The Aam Admi Party national convener promised to introduce facilities like doorstep delivery service and Mohalla clinics in Punjab if the party won the Punjab assembly polls.

"We will make 16000 clinics and renovate hospitals in Punjab," he promised, reported ANI.

"Like Delhi, Punjab too will get all the benefits," the Delhi chief minister said.

He also announced that no new tax will be introduced in Punjab if AAP wins the elections.

Punjab will vote on February 20 while the counting of votes is set to take place on March 10.
