Rahul Gandhi attacks BJP, AAP for Delhi tree felling
New Delhi, Jun 28 (IBNS): Three days after the Delhi High Court's order against felling of trees, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for reducing green cover in the national capital.
Rahul took to Twitter to say, "In Delhi, the BJP with AAP’s approval has hacked down thousands of trees in the past 4 yrs for “development”. Even children know that trees are critical to our survival & difficult to replace. Stand with the Congress & together let’s fight this madness."

The Delhi High Court on Monday ordered against felling of trees in the national capital till July 2, putting on hold a controversial mega-project that requires cutting of thousands of trees.
According to media reports, the court also questioned whether the felling of trees has Green Court permission.
"Has the green court allowed this tree-cutting?" the court questioned.
"Don't cut any more trees till July 2, next date of hearing," the court said.
The next date of hearing in the Delhi High Court is July 4, while, National Green Tribunal (NGT) will hear the matter on July 2.
The project in question is for construction of government officers' houses and a commercial complex. Government-run National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) is overseeing the project.
The high court has asked NBCC, "Can Delhi afford cutting of trees for the development of roads and buildings?"
NBCC and Central Public Works have assured the court that there will be no more felling of trees till July 4.
