Rajnath Singh visits storm-affected Bihar

New Delhi, Apr 24 (IBNS): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh reached storm-hit Bihar on Friday.

He will undertake a survey of storm affected districts in the state.

The HMO India tweeted: "HM has reached Purina in Bihar today with a central ministerial team including Shri Ravishankar Prasad & Shri Radhamohan Singh."

It said: "The Union Home Minister & Bihar Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar will undertake a survey of storm affected districts."

The severe storm has claimed several lives in the state.

Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi on Thursday asked the state government to pay Rs.4 lakh compensation to the family members of the victims immediately and carry on relief and rehabilitation work speedily.

The storm affected districts are in north and northeastern parts of the state including Purnea, Araria, Kishanganj, Katihar, Madhepura, Supaul, Saharsa, Bhagalpur, Samastipur, Darbhanga and Madhubani.
