Ram Nath Kovind to visit Tajikistan tomorrow

New Delhi, Oct 6 (IBNS): President of India Ram Nath Kovind will pay a State Visit to Tajikistan from Oct 7 to 9.

During his visit, he will meet President of Tajikistan Emamoli Rahmon. The Speaker of the Parliament  Shukurjon Zuhurov, Speaker (Chairman) of the Lower House (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of Parliament and the Prime Minister of Tajikistan Qohir Rasulzoda will call on the President.

Dr. Shubhash R. Bhamre, Raksha Rajya Mantri and Shamsher Singh Manhas, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) will also be part of Rashtrapatiji’s official delegation. The current visit is a standalone visit to Tajikistan.

The President will visit the Tajik National University where he will deliver an address on ‘Countering Radicalization: Challenges in Modern Societies’. He will address the members of the Indian Diaspora in Tajikistan.

The President will pay his respects to Mahatma Gandhi and Rabindranath Tagore by visiting their memorials in Dushanbe and will offer floral tributes.
During the visit of the President, all areas of bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation are expected to be discussed.

Given the close relationship between the two countries, the visit is expected to lead to further strengthening of Indo-Tajik bilateral relations.

This will be the very first visit of Ram Nath Kovind to Central Asia.
