Ram Nath Kovind undergoes successful bypass surgery: Rajnath Singh
New Delhi: Indian President Ram Nath Kovind's underwent successful bypass surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Tuesday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said.
Singh tweeted: "The President of India, Shri Ramnath Kovind has undergone a successful bypass surgery at AIIMS, Delhi." I congratulate the team of Doctors for successful operation. Spoke to Director AIIMS to enquire about Rashtrapatiji’s health. Praying for his well-being and speedy recovery," he said.
Kovind, 75, underwent a health check-up at the military hospital after he complained of chest discomfort on Friday morning.

Earlier today, he was referred to AIIMS, Delhi, by the Army Research and Referral Hospital.
"The President has been under observation after a routine medical checkup. He thanks all who enquired about his health and wished him well" the office of President of India tweeted.
