Muzaffarnagar, May 13 (IBNS) Re-polling at three booths in riot-hit Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh began on Tuesday morning amid tight security.
The Election Commission (EC) on Monday had announced that Muzaffarnagar will undergo re-polls on Tuesday.

Re-polling is being held at three booths at Behlolpur, Rasoolpur Jattan and Noonakhera.

Previously, the re-polling was scheduled to be held on Monday. But the EC later changed the date to May 13.

The EC decided on the re-polling after Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Kadir Rana and Pankaj Aggarwal of the Congress complaint of electoral irregularities during the Apr 10 polls.

Security was stepped up in the district to avoid any untoward situation.

Over 75% voters in the three booths had exercised their franchise on Apr 10.
