Saradha scam: Suspended TMC MP Kunal Ghosh gets interim bail from Calcutta HC

Kolkata, Oct 5 (IBNS): A division bench of the Calcutta High Court on Wednesday granted an interim bail on a personal bond of 2 lakh rupees to suspended Trinamool Congress (TMC) Rajya Sabha MP and journalist Kunal Ghosh in multi-crore Saradha financial scam case.

State's apex court also has imposed few conditions on the bail, including Kunal Ghosh has to submit his passport to the Central Investigation Agency (CBI) and he has to visit central investigation agency's office in Salt Lake once in every weak.

Calcutta High Court's division bench, comprising of Justice Ashim Kumar Roy and Justice Malay Marut Banerjee, also directed Kunal Ghosh that he would not leave Narkeldanga Police Station area during the bail period.

However, the interim and conditional bail is valid till Nov 11, the court said.

Earlier on Nov 23, 2013, police arrested the CEO of Saradha Group's media wing and suspended TMC MP, Kunal Ghosh, for his alleged role in the chit fund scam.

The CBI took Ghosh in their custody later on Sept 6, 2014.
