Seat sharing deal done in Grand Alliance but will be announced after ‘kharmas’

Patna, Dec 29 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, Ranchi, turned into a centre of political activities on Saturday with scores of leaders rushing to meet RJD chief Lalu Prasad undergoing treatment there.

Prominent leaders who met Prasad included RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, RLSP chief Upendra Ksuhwaha and “Son of Mallah” fame Mukesh Sahni who recently floated the Vikasheel Insan Party (VIP).

Both Kushwaha and Sahni have only recently joined the Grand Alliance. Last week, prominent Congress leaders like Shakeel Ahmad and Subodh Kant Sahay, apart from rebel BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha had met the RJD chief. JMM leader Hemant Soren also met Prasad.

Reports said at the meeting, the seat sharing deal among the Grand Alliance partners has been almost finalized. However, a formal announcement will be made only after Kharmas (ongoing inauspicious month).

“Well we discussed the issue of seat sharing during the meeting and decided to work together to prevent the NDA opening its account in twin states of Bihar and Jharkhand,” Kushwaha told the media after meeting Prasad on Saturday.

“We have finalized our strategy and also agreed at the seat sharing deal but won’t disclose here,” he added.

Sahni said they wouldn’t allow the NDA returning to power after next elections and the issue of seat sharing had been amicably settled.
