Seven civilians, one Jawan injured in Kashmir grenade attack on CRPF convoy

Srinagar, Oct 11 (IBNS) : Seven civilians and a jawan were injured when a grenade was thrown on a CRPF convoy in south Kashmir's Shopian district on Tuesday, reports said.

The attack comes at a time when security forces in Pampore on the outskirts of Srinagar continued to battle  terrorists hiding in a government building for more than 24 hours.

CRPF personnel were on patrol duty when the grenade was hurled.

The army's Special Forces, paramilitary soldiers and counter-insurgency police were remained in the gun battle with  terrorists in the Entrepreneurship Development Institute in Pampore since 6 30 am on Monday.

The same building had been attacked in February. Five soldiers and a civilian were killed before three terrorists were shot dead.
