Sharad Pawar to hold meeting of Rashtra Manch at 4 pm today
Mumbai/IBNS: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar will hold a meeting of various political leaders as well intellectuals at his residence on Tuesday, significantly amid the talks of a possible anti-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) third front that have emerged over the last few days.
However, the invitations extended to the intellectuals at the meeting of Rashtra Manch, a political action group created by Pawar in 2018, has toned down the political angle to some extent.
The leaders of various opposition parties barring the Congress are expected to be present in the meeting, which will be held at Pawar's residence from 4 pm.
Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Yashwant Sinha, who is vocal against the BJP and its supreme leader Prime Minister Narendra Modi, tweeted on Monday, "We shall have a meeting of the Rashtra Manch tomorrow at 4 pm. Sri Sharad Pawar has kindly agreed to host the meeting at his place."

The talks of a separate front to take on the BJP in the 2024 General Elections have gained pace after former political strategist Prashant Kishor met the NCP supremo twice in recent times.
Kishor's meeting with Pawar is seen as significant as the former political aide has led various opposition parties to resounding victory against the BJP and most recently the TMC in West Bengal.
However, Kishor has trashed all such possibilities where he was seen as a common thread between the disperate opposition forces saying he doesn't believe a third or fourth front will be successful in taking on the BJP.
Even after TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee stormed back to power on May 2 in West Bengal with Kishor as an aide, the former strategist had maintained the 2024 Lok Sabha polls would be a different ball game.
