Shiv Sena leader lashes out at Arnab Goswami over sensational journalism
Aurangabad/UNI: Shiv Sena leader has lashed out at Arnab Goswami, editor-in-chief of Republic India channel for its sensational journalism and consistent media trial and demanded legal action against him.
Shiv Sena district chief and MLC from Aurangabad and Jalna local bodies constituency Mr Ambadas Danve has alleged in a statement handed out to the Commissioner of Police (CP) Chiranjeev Prasad that the Republic TV channel and its editor-in-chief Goswami have gone so far as to make baseless allegations against Cabinet Ministers in Maharashtra over the Sushant Singh Rajput case without any evidence.
Earlier in the past as well, he has slandered political leaders, especially the Leader of the Opposition. Therefore, charges should be filed against him as he had gone beyond all morality in journalism, he said in the statement.
The Press Council of India has set some limits on journalism and news coverage. But the channel and its editor, Goswami, are seen violating the code of conduct in a very bad way. As a result, the channel is violating sections 25 and 35 issued by the Press Council.
Danve further said that Goswami is trying to provoke people by creating divisions in society by spreading divisive and irresponsible news about crime for the personal interest of some people.
Releasing news when there is no evidence of a crime can disrupt the work of the official investigating agency and help the real culprit to flee to safety.
Goswami is making baseless and disgusting allegations without respecting the people's elected representatives. The channel has also insulted the police department from time to time, the statement said.
Danve has further alleged that Mr Goswami has also threatened Chief Minister of Maharashtra has and his body language is very offensive and annoying. This is an insult not to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra but the whole of Maharashtra.
