Social Media influencer arrested for making derogatory remarks against Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai/UNI: An FIR has been registered against a social media influencer Pradeep Bhalekar on Wednesday for using derogatory words on social media against Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union minister Narayan Rane.

Samata Nagar police have booked Bhalekar under sections 153 A and B for inciting animosity between various groups, 500 (defamation), 504 (intentional insult), and 505 (2) (public mischief which will alarm public) of the Indian Panel.

The arrest was made after a police officer from the cyber branch discovered his tweets during a routine check.

Bhalekar, a resident of Malad, was earlier arrested for making derogatory remarks against Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.
