Soldier killed in encounter in Kashmir's Kupwara

Srinagar, Aug 17 (IBNS): A soldier was killed in an encounter with terrorists in  Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district on Friday.

The encounter is still underway.

The encounter started when a team of joint security forces of the CRPF, Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operation Group came under attack after they went to the Karalgund area for a search operation following intelligence inputs about terrorists hiding there.

Details of the incident are still awaited.

Another encounter between the security forces and terrorists at Hajin in Bandipora district.
