Supreme Court pulls up Rahul Gandhi for his alleged remark on the RSS

New Delhi, Jul 19 (IBNS): Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi was pulled up by the Supreme Court on Tuesday regarding his alleged comment blaming the RSS for the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, according to media reports.
"You cannot make collective denunciations," the apex court told Rahul Gandhi.

The court also hinted that Rahul Gandhi may have to face trial in the defamation case unless he apologised, media reported.

"We will examine whether what the petitioner (Rahul) said comes within the ambit of defamation," the court said, reported NDTV.

The case has been adjourned until July 27.

An RSS activist had filed a complaint following Rahul Gandhi's alleged remark that the RSS was to be blamed for the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi while Rahul was campaigning for the 2014 general elections.

Rahul Gandhi had petitioned the court that the defamation case against him be cancelled, media reported.
