Supreme Court refuses to intervene in FTII stalemate
The public interest litigation filed in the apex court said the standoff was causing loss of Rs 10 lakh per day. The PIL also wanted security for students who want to attend classes.
Meanwhile, FTII students, agitating for nearly three months have threatened to go on an indefinite hunger strike if their demands are not met.
The FTII students' are protesting for removal of TV actor and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member Gajendra Chauhan as the chairman of the institute. Their agitation has received support from a section of the faculty and several celebrities.
