Supreme Court rules out disqualification of tainted politicians from contesting polls
New Delhi, Sept 25 (IBNS): The Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled out disqualification of politicians facing criminal changes from contesting polls, media reports said.
The top court has asked the parliament must make a law over the matter.
In his observation, Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra said: "Corruption becomes national economic terror."
The CJI even said candidates must inform about their criminal past.
A five-judge Constitution Bench led by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra was hearing the petitions seeking barring of tainted politicians from contesting polls.
