Sushma Swaraj says reports of seeking Tharoor help for drafting on Pak false, mischievously planted
"The news was completely false and mischievously planted in the media," Swaraj tweeted on Wednesday.
She had earlier posted that "there is no dearth of talent in my ministry. I have the assistance of very able Secretaries."
Media reports on Tuesday had said that Swaraj sought help from Tharoor for drafting a resolution that will be adopted by both houses against Pakistan over the death sentence given to Kulbhushan Jadhav.
It was said that Tharoor helped Swaraj after seeking permission from his party's leader in the house Mallikarjun Kharge.
"This is a matter that affects us all," Tharoor told NDTV.
In a statement in the upper House on Tuesday, Sushma Swaraj said the way Jadhav has been sentenced to death is nothing short of "an act of premeditated murder."
"The Government will go out of the way to save him”, Swaraj, who called Kulbhushan Jadhav a son of India, said.
"“I would caution the Pakistan Government to consider the consequences for our bilateral relationship if they proceed on this matter,” she said.
Swaraj said the charges of spying levelled against Jadhav are "concocted" and "there is no evidence of any wrongdoing by him."
