Teacher recruitment scam: Partha Chatterjee arrives at AIIMS Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar/Kolkata/IBNS: As per the Calcutta High Court's directive, arrested West Bengal Minister Partha Chatterjee, an accused in the teacher recruitment scam, was brought to AIIMS Bhubaneswar Monday morning.
Chatterjee was brought in an air ambulance to the capital city of West Bengal's neighbouring state Odisha.
Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate or ED moved the Calcutta High Court challenging a lower court order that led to Chatterjee being admitted in the state government-run SSKM Hospital.
The High Court has directed the AIIMS Bhubaneswar authority to medically examine Partha Chatterjee by a team of specialist doctors of Cardiology, Nephrology, Respiratory Medicines and Endocrinology departments.

Chatterjee, who is the Trinamool Congress (TMC) secretary general, was arrested Saturday after a 20-hour raid by the ED officials in his residence.
The officials had also recovered a huge cash amounting to Rs. 21 crore from Chatterjee's aide Arpita Mukherjee, who has also been arrested.
Meanwhile, the TMC has distanced itself from Chatterjee and claimed it has no link with the cash recovered from Mukherjee's posh south Kolkata flat.
In a muted response, TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said, "We want a speedy investigation into the case and if Partha Chatterjee is found guilty in the court of law, the party as well as the government will take appropriate action against him."
