Telangana: Four nabbed with banned chewing tobacco worth about Rs 1.43 cr
Hyderabad, May 6 (UNI) The North Zone Task Force team has busted the sale of noxious chewing tobacco gang by arresting four persons including the prime accused Avala Abhishek, the proprietor of 7 Hills Tobacco and Manikchanda Pan Masala material, here on Monday and seized huge quantity of banned chewing Tobacco material worth about Rs 1.43 from their possession.
Acting on specific information, the sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force ( North Zone team), Hyderabad along with Gopalpuram Police, intercepted two goods vehicles near Secunderabad Railway Station (outward Parcel office).
The accused were identified as Avala Abhishek, Shabeer Moinuddin (Associate and receive the material from Secbad Railway station), Syed Jabeer Ahmed alias Javeed (Associate and Loading and unloading Tobacco material bags from Sec’bad Railway station) and Syed Mahmood alias Mustafa, an Auto trolley driver)
while transporting the banned noxious Tobacco 7 MC Tobacco brand on the guise of 7 Hills Manikchand Pan Masala and 500 Chewing Tobacco, City Police Commissioner
Anjani Kumar said in a press conference here.
Seized banned tobacco material market value about 1.43 crore besides two goods vehicles from the accused.
Explaining about the facts of the case, the Commissioner said that, the main accused Avala Abhishek residing at Saidabad in the city, has established
Manufacturing unit at Nemara Gomula Village, Bibi Nagar Mandal, Yadadri Dist in the year 2015 and used to manufacturing 7 hills Manikchand Pan Masala,
Zarda(Tobacco) and established distribution system in Telangana and other states.
While manufacturing and selling of banned Noxious Tobacco products on the guise of 7 Hills Manikchand Pan Masala , in the year 2018, the Bibi Nagar police
seized the manufacturing unit along with the noxious tobacco material, and arrested the accused persons Avala Abhishek, his father A.V.Suresh and 4 others .
The accused were remanded to judicial custody.
Later, the accused Avala Abhishek through his agents Sailesh Jain in Gujarat State established a manufacturing unit at Ahamadabad, Rajkot and manufacturing
Tobacco /Zarda on the brand name of “7 MC Tobacco and 7 Hills Manikchand Pan Masala”.
Through his agents, he distributed (Transported) the noxious Tobacco products through Railway Cargo (Transport) service from Ahmadabad , Gujarat State to Secunderabad Railway station, said the Police Commissioner.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the prime accused duped huge amounts from several investors on the guise of allocating franchise/distribution
and C and F agency of “7 Hills Manikchand Pan Masala” all over India.
In this regard, two cases have registered in Musheerabad police station and Vishakapatnam IV Town Police station under section 420 IPC.
The apprehended accused persons along with seized material being handed over to Gopalpuram Police station for further investigation under section
271, 272, 273, 188, 336 R/w.34 IPC and Sec.20(2) of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and
Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003, the commissioner added.
