Telangana municipal polls: TRS heads towards a big win

Hyderabad/UNI: Ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is heading towards a big win in the Urban Local Bodies Election which was held on Jan 22.

The counting of votes polled in the 120 Municipalities and 9 Municipal Corporations which began, amid elaborate arrangements, at 0800 hours was in progress and most of the results are expected by this afternoon.

The latest trends show that the TRS was leading in 80 per cent of 2,971 wards of the civic bodies and already won seven wards so far.

More than 12,000 candidates of different political parties besides Independents are trying their electoral fortunes in the ULB poll.
