New Delhi, Dec 22 (IBNS) All the ten occupants, including three BSF officers, were killed when a small plane crashed near the Delhi airport on Tuesday morning.

Reports said the BSF plane, a Super King aircraft, was carrying those three officers and seven technicians on its way to Ranchi.

The crash took place at around 9.50 am, moments after technicians lost contact with ground control.

The plane reportedly hit  a wall and then crashed into a septic tank. The aircraft burst into flames.

More than a dozen fire engines are at the spot, besides security forces and a crowd from a village nearby.

Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma has said that an investigation has been ordered.

"The tragic news of BSF plane crash near IGI airport in New Delhi is extremely painful. Rushing to the crash site immediately," Home Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted.
