Thank you India: Donald Trump tweets over easing restrictions on hydroxychloroquine export
Washington/IBNS: With Indian government easing restrictions on export of anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine, US President Donald Trump on Thursday thanked PM Narendra Modi on social media for the step taken by his government.
Trump said India's help would not be forgotten.
"Extraordinary times require even closer cooperation between friends. Thank you India and the Indian people for the decision on HCQ. Will not be forgotten! Thank you Prime Minister @NarendraModi for your strong leadership in helping not just India, but humanity, in this fight!" he tweeted.

Trump's reaction was in contrast to his comments during a recent media interaction where he had threatened “retaliation” if the restrictions weren’t lifted.
Trump has repeatedly described hydroxychloroquine as a game-changer in the battle against COVID-19.
India is one of the largest manufacturers of hydroxychloroquine.
Modi responds:
Fully agree with you President @realDonaldTrump. Times like these bring friends closer. The India-US partnership is stronger than ever.

India shall do everything possible to help humanity's fight against COVID-19.
We shall win this together. https://t.co/0U2xsZNexE
