Thanks to Karnataka people for rejecting Congress' divisive politics: Nirmala Sitharaman on BJP's poll victory
New Delhi, May 15 (IBNS): Reacting to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) heading for a clean sweep in Karnataka assembly polls, Defence Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Nirmala Sitharaman, has taken a dig at the Congress' alleged "divisive politics".
While interacting with media, Sitharaman said: "Congress' divisive politics has been rejected and for that I thank people of Karnataka."
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to uproot the five-year old Congress government to establish a stronghold in the southern India, as the Karnataka assembly poll results are being declared on Tuesday.
According to latest trends, the BJP is leading in 113 seats as against Congress' 67.
Janata Dal (Secular) is leading in 40 seats.
The majority mark in the 224-seat Assembly is 113.
Results of 222 seats will be declared on Tuesday.
Polling was not held in two seats on Saturday when people voted in the southern state to elect a new Assembly.
