Kolkata/IBNS: In her first reaction to the "goli maro" comment which was raised during Union Home Minister Amit Shah's rally here on Sunday afternoon, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday warned of strict actions against the ones who had raised it.

Attacking the Centre, Banerjee, said, "I have seen some people raising the slogan which was an illegal one. So law will take its own course. This is Kolkata, not Delhi so actions will be taken."

Banerjee made the comment while launching "Banglar Gorbo Mamata" campaign of her party Trinamool Congress (TMC) at Netaji Indoor Stadium here.

The Kolkata Police on Sunday midnight arrested three persons for chanting controversial 'Goli Maro' (Shoot them) slogan in the heart of the city during Union Home Minister Amit Shah's rally here, reports said on Monday.

According to senior city police officials, three people, Surendra Kumar Tiwari, Pankaj Prasad and Dhruba Basu, have been nabbed from New Market PS area.

Sources said that all of them were active members of BJP's lawyers' cell and chanted the controversial slogan while going to join Shah's rally at Shaheed Minar Maidan on Sunday.

"After examining footage of the incident, we identified the trio and arrested them," an official of Kolkata Police said.

Hours after the incident, Kolkata Police registered a suo moto FIR at New Market PS under IPC sections 153A (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony), 505 (Statements conducing to public mischief), 506 (Criminal intimidation) and 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) against 'unidentified' persons.

The slogan was supposed to have been inspired by a Delhi rally where Union Minister Anurag Thakur had led people to chant it during the assembly elections in the national capital.
