Three professors of JNU files PIL in Delhi HC seeking direction to preserve data, CCTV footage, evidence related to Jan 5 violence

New Delhi/UNI:  Three Professors of the Jawaharlal Nehru University on Thursday filed a PIL in Delhi High Court seeking directions to preserve data, CCTV footage and other evidence related to the violence of January 5 in the campus.

A mob of masked men allegedly stormed the campus on last Sunday and targeted students in three hostels of the prestigious institution.

Ameet Parameswaran, Atul Sood and Shukla Vinayak Sawant filed the public interest litigation seeking necessary directives to the Delhi Police Commissioner and the Arvind Kejriwal government.

They further sought directions from the HC for preservation and retrieval of all material evidence available with WhatsApp INC, Google INC and Apple INC pertaining to relevant data of WhatsApp groups 'Unity Against Left' and 'Friends of RSS.'
