To raise money for reality show teenaged boy and girl allegedly murder 13-year-old

New Delhi, Sept 25 (IBNS) Two teenagers- a boy and a girl, have been nabbed by the police for allegedly kidnapping a 13-year-old boy and then strangling him in a grisly plot to raise money to participate in a reality show, reports said.

All three were part of a dance troupe.

According to police, the accused teenagers-both 17- have confessed to committing the crime.

They reportedly wanted to go to Mumbai to participate in a popular dance reality show and plotted to kidnap Swapnesh Gupta for ransom.

They allegedly kidnapped Swapnesh on September 16, after telling him they were all going for a show, and took him to Uttarakhand.

After staying overnight at  a friend's house, the duo couple allegedly took the boy to a hilltop at Ranikhet town and strangled him with a belt before pushing the body from the cliff.

They returned to Delhi two days later and called up the boy's father to demand a ransom of Rs. 60,000.

A police team tracked down the location of the caller to Faridabad on the outskirts of Delhi.

Phone records revealed that the callers had been in Uttarakhand between September 16 and 18 and the police confronted the teenagers.
