New Delhi, Dec 2 (IBNS):  A test run of India's first locomotive-less train was performed on Sunday.

According to reports, the train, which is known as Train 18, breached the 180 kmph speed limit during the test run.

After becoming operational, the train is going to be the fastest in India.

Reacting to the development, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted: "जोर स्पीड का झटका धीरे से लगा: Train 18 exceeds 180kmph during trial. The stability of water bottles at this speed is testament to the quality of workmanship and design of our engineers."

He also shared a video of the test run of the train on his Twitter page.

The train will have same passenger carrying capacity as the Shatabdi Express, reports said.

It has 16 coaches.
