Madurai, Mar 15 (IBNS): Sidelined AIADMK MLA TTV Dinakaran on Thursday launched his own political party, Ammra Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam, in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, media reports said.

Dinakaran has unveiled the party's new flag along with several of his supporters.

Dinakaran, the nephew of former AIADMK General Secretary VK Sasikala, recently contested and won the RK Nagar by-poll as an independent candidate.

The RK Nagar seat fell vacant after the demise of former Chief Minister, the late J Jayalalithaa.

Tamil Nadu has recently witnessed the launch of a political party by actor-turned politician Kamal Haasan.
