Two Indian soldiers were injured and one Pakistani person was killed during an exchange of fire along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara region on Saturday.

The injured soldiers have been taken to hospital for treatment.

"There has been exchange of fire with unidentified personnel on a forward post in Kamkari, Macchal Sector on the line of control. One Pakistani person has been killed while two of our soldiers have suffered injuries and have been evacuated," the  Chinar Corps posted on X.

The operation is still ongoing.

In a swipe at Islamabad on 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said Pakistan learnt no lesson from the past and continues to wage proxy wars with New Delhi through terrorism.

"In Kargil, we not only won the war, we presented an incredible example of 'truth, restraint and strength," Prime Minister Modi remarked.

The Prime Minister threw light on Pakistan’s deceit at the time when India was making all efforts to maintain peace.

"Falsehood and terror were brought down to their knees by truth," he added.
