Union Home Minister Amit Shah tests COVID-19 positive, admitted to hospital
New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday confirmed that he has been tested positive for COVID-19 as top politicians in the country wished him speedy recovery.
Shah, 55, who is one of the senior politicians of the country and a close aide to PM Narendra Modi, has been admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram, reports UNI.
He was having minor symptoms and was advised for hospitalization, reports the news agency.
"On seeing the symptoms of Coronavirus, I got myself tested and the reports have come positive. I am doing fine but as per doctor's suggestions, I am getting myself hospitalised," Shah had tweeted.
He also appealed the people, who have come in his contact recently, to get themselves tested for COVID-19 and isolate themselves.
