Union I&B Minister Anurag Thakur extends National Press Day greetings

New Delhi/UNI: Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur on Wednesday greeted the media fraternity on the occasion of National Press Day.

Extending his warm wishes to all mediapersons, Thakur tweeted, "It is a day of reaffirmation of our collective commitment to responsible journalism without fear or favour."

"I look forward to media playing an increasingly constructive role in our democracy," the minister said.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge tweeted, "“Freedom of the press is a precious privilege that no country can forego.” — Mahatma Gandhi On #NationalPressDay, extend best wishes to members of the Press & Media. 

"Media is the protector & enabler of democratic institutions and this onerous task entails - no fear, no favour."
