US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti visits Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai, pays tribute to 26/11 victims

Mumbai: US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti visited the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai and paid tributes to the victims of the 26/11 terror attack on Wednesday.

The envoy tweeted: " A poignant visit to the 26/11 Memorial at Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, honoring the memory of those who lost their lives in the attacks and Mumbai’s resilience."

During his visit to Mumbai, the envoy met several key Indian leaders from various fields which included businessman Mukesh Ambani, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan and former Indian women's cricket team captain Mithali Raj.

He also met  Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais during his visit to the state.

Speaking to reporters in Mumbai about PM Narendra Modi's upcoming US visit, he was quoted as saying by ANI: " I’m thrilled that Prime Minister Modi will be visiting the United States for an official state visit. It’s only the third time in 75 years that an Indian prime minister has visited. It’s only the third visit of any head of government from anywhere in the world with President Biden at the White House."
