Uttar Pradesh: Dalit man killed over minor dispute in Hardoi

Hardoi/UNI: A 42-year-old Dalit man was hacked to death by a man allegedly over petty dispute in Bilgram area of Hardoi district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Friday.

Police sources said that Saligram, a resident of Nurpur village, was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon Guddu Rathore and was hacked to death.

"The accused later fled from the spot with the murder weapon," they said.

Police sources said that preliminary investigation has revealed minor dispute between the duo as the cause of murder.

"Family members of the deceased that a few days back Guddu's cattle strayed in Saligram's field, which led to dispute between the duo, but the matter was sorted out after local residents intervened," they said.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Nripendra Kumar said that the body has been sent for postmortem examination.

He said that on the complaint of the family members of the deceased a case has been lodged and teams have been constituted to arrest the accused.
