Venkaiah Naidu administers oath to 45 newly-elected Rajya Sabha MPs

New Delhi/UNI: Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday administered the oath to 45 out of 61 newly-elected members of the Rajya Sabha in the Chamber of the House.

Prominent among them were Jyotiraditya Scindia, Mallikarjun Kharge, K C Venugopal, Deepender S Hooda and K T S Tulsi.

Welcoming the new members, Naidu said 12 sitting Members have been re-elected and 49 have been elected to the House.

Naidu has also asked the newly-elected MPs to ensure that their conduct was in conformity with rules of the House.

An orientation programme for the new Members would be held soon.

BJP MPs Jyotiraditya Scindia, Bhuvaneshwar Kalita, both previously with the Congress, Narhari Amin and Rajendra Gehlot were among those who took oath.
