Victory in Gujarat, Himachal victory for development, will win 2019 LS polls : Amit Shah

New Delhi, Dec 18 (IBNS) : BJP president Amit Shah congratulated his party men for the  triumph  in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, saying this is a victory of "Vikas" (development ) over dynasty.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters in the national capital, Shah also said these are a precursor to the victory BJP will register in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

“We have once again emerged triumphant. I offer heartfelt gratitude to the people of Gujarat and Hiamchal Pradesh," Shah said.

“People have reposed faith in Modi’s path of vikas. This is a victory of development over dynasty and polarisation."

Shah expressed confidence that his party will emerge victorious in 2019 elections. “We are confident that when we go into 2019 elections under the leadership of PM Modi we will once again get people’s support," Shah said.

Commenting on the reduced margin of victory that the BJP has experienced in Gujarat this time, Shah said this was because of the "caste-based campaign" of the Congress.

"But people of the state rejected their idea.  Though the Congress tried to  fuel the fire of caste politics in Gujarat, BJP managed to overcome this and people of the state defeated them,."

Reacting to the poll results in Himachal, Shah said, “The 2/3rd lead in Himachal Pradesh shows the people's aspiration to take part in Narendra Modi's "journey to development."
