New Delhi, May 4 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday interacted with Mahila Morcha Karyakartas of Karnataka and said the 'hollow promises' made by the ruling Congress-led government in the state are needed to be exposed.

He urged people of Karnataka to join the 'journey of development' as commenced by his government since coming to power at the Centre in 2014.

"We need to expose the hollow promises made by Congress party and urge the people of Karnataka to join the journey of development," Modi said.

Modi visited Karnataka to address poll campaign rallies in the state.

The poll is scheduled to be held on May 12. The poll results will be out three days later on May 15.

Karnataka is one of the last few states which are ruled by the Congress.

BJP, under the leadership of former Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, is eyeing on to return to power.

Both Modi and Congress President Rahul Gandhi are campaigning hard in the crucial southern state.
