West Bengal: Crude bomb explosion in club house kills 1

Kolkata/Burdwan, Nov 7 (IBNS): At least one person was killed on Monday when a crude bomb went off inside a club at Shribati village under Katwa Police Station limits in Burdwan district of West Bengal, reports said.

According to reports, one or more crude bombs were placed in the local club and one of those suddenly exploded at around 5 am. in the morning.

A middle-aged passerby, who has been identified as Lalu Sheikh, was killed in the explosion.

Later a huge police force and bomb disposal squad went to the spot and recovered as many as 30 crude bombs from a culvert nearby.

"Due to the high intensity explosion, the club house has been destroyed almost," a senior official of Burdwan district police told IBNS.

"We have started investigation into the matter," the official further said.
