West Bengal: FIR lodged against BJP leader for calling Mamata Banerjee 'eunuch'
According to reports, a local resident of Chandrakona Road area, Dhol Govinda Sain, lodged a complaint against district BJP observer Shyamapada Mondal at Garhbeta Police Station in West Medinipur district on Monday morning for his controversial comments on Mamata Banerjee.
A local police official said that based on the complaint, police have lodged the FIR.
"The FIR has been lodged against Shyamapada Mondal under IPC sections 505 (Statements conducing to public mischief), 506 (Criminal intimidation), 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 153A (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony) and 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) at Garhbeta Police Station today," a senior official of West Medinipur district police told IBNS.
During a mass meeting at Chandrakona Road in West Medinipur on Sunday morning, district BJP observer Shyamapada Mondal allegedly made controversial and defamatory statements on TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee.
Besides calling her 'eunuch', the local BJP leader suggested to send state Chief Minister to a mental asylum in Ranchi for her treatment, according to reports.
